I am the CEO and Founder of The Noble Maat Collective (NMC), a social impact organization dedicated to enhancing workplace and family well-being through mindfulness-based interventions and evidence-informed leadership practices. With a deep-rooted passion for Industrial/Organizational Psychology, I help organizations cultivate resilient, high-performing teams while fostering cultures of psychological safety, self-leadership, and holistic wellness.
My expertise is shaped by both lived experience and an extensive career in leadership development. Growing up in urban poverty and becoming a teenage mother, I was the first in my family to graduate from college, later earning a graduate degree in the Psychology of Parenthood from NYU. Over the past two decades, I have served as a Dean of Students, Principal, Executive Director, and Deputy of Family and Community Programs, developing countless leaders and staff to support families and communities effectively.
Through my work, I recognized a critical gap: professionals in high-impact roles often experience burnout and secondary trauma, limiting their ability to serve others effectively. This realization led me to center self-leadership and workplace wellness in my research and practice, advocating for strategies that enhance employee well-being, emotional intelligence, and organizational resilience.
As an adjunct professor, mindfulness facilitator, and sought-after speaker, I have trained over 700 educators, led large-scale mindfulness-based interventions, and designed retreats to prevent burnout and nurture sustainable leadership. I also serve on the founding board of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association, the accrediting body for rigorous mindfulness teacher training programs. Currently, I am spearheading NMC’s social impact model, addressing systemic inequities in workplace wellness and ensuring that mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) are researched and applied in ways that reflect the unique needs of BIPOC communities.
My work is a call to action—one that redefines leadership not just as a professional skill but as an intentional practice of self-awareness, well-being, and collective empowerment.
